A suitcase, found abandoned outside a shopping mall near Lodge Centre here, triggered panic on Monday. Fearing that the suitcase could contain a bomb, people in the area informed the police, who promptly rushed a bomb squad to the spot.
Traffic was diverted to facilitate checking of the suspicious looking suitcase. However, after nearly an hour of tension that prevailed, the suitcase was found to be an empty one much to the relief of police and the public.
Urban SP A. Ravi Krishna said it was good that the people were alert and immediately alerted the police.
