‘AAP focussed on common man welfare’

Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Vijayawada West candidate P. Venkata Rama Rao on Monday urged people to vote for his party which, he claimed, was focussed on welfare of the common man.

As part of his last day campaign, he said people should reject leaders who were mired in corruption-related controversies and vote in favour of the broom symbol. Accusing the YSR Congress Party of resorting to unlawful means to lure the electorate, he said giving power to such a party would mean a grave threat to the law and order situation. If the YSR CP was a synonym for corruption, there was a likelihood of communal disharmony in the event of the Bharatiya Janata Party coming to power, he cautioned.

Criticising the Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu’s claim that he would transform Seemandhra into a Singapore, Mr. Rama Rao said people should not forget the fact that the TDP had given its consent for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh State.
