Krishna district got the green signal for expanding Aadhaar-enabled Fertilizer Distribution System (AeFDS), from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), according to Collector Babu A. He gave a presentation on the project in a gathering of top officials of the Ministries concerned, at the PMO on Sunday.

Mr. Babu stated in a press release that the Central government allowed implementation of AeFDS in two districts in each State on a pilot basis and the Krishna district was in the forefront of giving it a tangible shape having tasted grand success in rolling out e-POS (e-Point of Sale) system.

AeFDS would be funded by the Central government and it was poised for expansion soon. The pilot project started to be implemented in 20 fertilizer shops. Krishna district has also worked on the implementation of Biometrically Authenticated Physical Uptake (BAPU) scheme.
