Office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at its State executive committee meeting held here on Monday resolved to strive for increasing the BJP’s membership from two lakh to 10 lakh over the next three months through social media and other platforms.
They also decided to motivate youth to join politics, and as part of the initiative, the organisation will hold gate meetings at colleges and hostels across the State.
Participating as the chief guest, BJP State general secretary G. Ravindra Raju said it was a golden opportunity for the party to consolidate its electoral gains, and the BJYM would have to play a crucial role in achieving the goal.
“The BJP has emerged as an efficient alternative to the Congress, and that advantageous position should not be allowed to slip away. The BJP has silenced its critics by securing an absolute majority at the Centre and toppling Congress governments in several States, and the same spirit should continue,” Mr. Raju told the participants.
BJYM State president S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said politics had for long been considered a taboo among youth, but they should learn from the meteoric rise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJYM is committed to making the BJP the best political dispensation people would ever have, he said and called upon the cadre to take the membership drive to be launched in the districts on December 6 seriously for achieving targets.
BJYM national executive member Ramesh Naidu and State general secretary Chikkala Rajinikanth were among those who spoke.
They also decided to motivate youth to join politics, and as part of the initiative, the organisation will hold gate meetings at colleges and hostels across the State.
