The senior citizens reminisced the ‘good old days’ spent at their alma mater exactly fifty years back!

As part of the golden jubilee reunion, the 1964-68 batch B.Sc. (Agri) students of Sri Venkateswara Agricultural College (SVAC) visited their campus here on Sunday and went nostalgic on noticing the drastic changes the campus had undergone in these years.

Thirty students of that batch, who are settled in various places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, arrived at the college along with their better halves and recalled the sweet memories of their college life.

After going around the classrooms they studied and the hostel rooms they lived in, they exchanged pleasantries and recalled ‘those were the days’ kind of anecdotes.

Rather than their academic pursuits and personal accomplishments, the reunion saw several old students discussing the social activities taken up by them.

Fund for development

“We have decided to set apart a fund for the development of the college and also to serve the poor students aspiring to study here,” said P.V. Reddy, who studied in that batch.

Dr. Reddy, who later became the principal of the same institution, arranged the ‘most memorable’ get-together along with his batchmates K.V. Raju, B.C. Narasimhulu and M. Reddeppa Reddy.

The alumni also decided to hold similar meetings once in two years at their ‘beloved campus.’
