A welcome address by college correspondent Alberthamma and special wishes from the Principal Japmalai set the tone of the event in which they said that the college was proud of their old students and their achievements.

It takes a lot of effort and contribution from the old students to keep in regular touch with their college, but it is nice to see so many alumni of Maris Stella College attending in person at the event, said KCP limited, Chennai Joint Managing Director V. L. Indira. This speaks volumes about the bonding they have with the institution, she said.

The second day of the Maris Stella College Golden Jubilee celebrations affected by the sudden change in the weather, were shifted to the college auditorium in the eleventh hour on Sunday.

The programme began with a dance and the alumni of the college attended in large numbers from all over India.

A welcome address by college correspondent Alberthamma and special wishes from the Principal Japmalai set the tone of the event in which they said that the college was proud of their old students and their achievements.

College Alumni Association vice-president K. Sandhya explained about the activities of the Association. She said that keeping in touch with colleges they studied might be a new trend, but that the Alumni of the MSC had been meeting annually for many years now.

Principal Accountant General, Hyderabad and an old student of the college Vani Sriram acknowledged that the MSC played a significant role in her life and helped her reach the position she is in currently.

Felicitated

The guests, alumni of the college, retired teaching staff and non-teaching staff along with office staff, wardens and assistant wardens were felicitated by the management of the college during these programmes. Special dances like Ruthuchakram, Mohiniattam, Kolatam, Kuchipudi Nruthyam and Karagam were performed by the students of the college.

Stella Maris College, Chennai Superior Sister Susan Matheikal, Mumbai Province Provincial Sr. Leena Quadras, Kakatiya University Professor N. Vijaya and Former Health Minister S. Aruna were the guests of honour.
