The South Zone police conducted cordon and search operation in and around the Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) on Tuesday. They took five suspects into custody.

The police forces conducted surprise checks and raids at the arrival and departure areas, hotels, waiting halls and other places. They frisked some passengers on the platforms and inquired about their particulars.

They checked the vehicles in the parking lots and the luggage on the platforms. Police teams took the suspects into custody and shifted them to the Krishnalanka police station. “Search operations will continue in the East, North and West divisions in the city till midnight. The aim of cordon and search is to track the movements of rowdy and suspect sheeters, ex-convicts and criminals in the city,” a police officer said.
