Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was prepared to camp at Polavaram for a week to supervise the project so that it kept pace with the schedule.

Doing a virtual inspection of the multi-purpose project from the Interim Government Complex at Velagapudi in Guntur district on Monday, Mr. Naidu said he would talk to the steel and cement companies to ensure that there was no difficulty in sourcing the raw material and despatching it to the project site.

A liaison officer would be appointed to take care of the transportation of the machinery, and a museum was planned to be established at the dam site to inform people of its importance and various stages of construction.

The Chief Minister said the spillway concrete works should be expedited as only 14% of the works had been completed.

The Triveni Engineering and Transstroy India had finished 50% and 35% of the work entrusted to them.

Of the total earthwork of 44.63 lakh cubic metres, 21.47 lakh cubic metres had been accomplished, Mr. Naidu added.
