Chief Minister to visit Davos from January 17 to 21

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by a State delegation, will visit Zurich, Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, to participate in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) from January 17-21.

Mr. Naidu and his team will reach Zurich on January 16. This is the third time in a row that the Chief Minister has been specially invited by the Forum.

WEF President Klaus Schwab extended the invite for a session on the “Future of Urban Development.” Mr. Naidu will attend 45 to 50 meetings in Davos.

A day before the Davos meeting, the CM will meet international investors and businessmen in Zurich and explain to them the opportunities available and also the government procedures. He will hold private sessions with Swiss investors. It will be followed by a lunch with the Telugu diaspora. The sectors focused include global fund, financing, IT, infrastructure, manufacturing, smart cities and solar energy.

Mr. Naidu will be a key speaker at the session titled ‘Preparing for the City Century’ on January 17. He will represent India in the boardroom discussion titled ‘India and South Asia Regional Strategy Group Meeting’ where world leaders will be present.

The schedule in Davos includes meetings with General Electric, Jetro, Medtronic, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Cisco, New Development Bank, and Wageningen University & Research etc. on January 17. Mr. Naidu will address bilateral meetings with Jetro Chairman Hiroyuki Ishige, Kim Stratton of Shire International, and University of California, Berkeley, Chancellor Nicolas Dirks. Later in the evening, he will participate in the Time India Awards and meet the CPP Investment Board and The Global Fund group.
