The Manipal Super Speciality Hospital at Tadepalli has introduced 24-hour comprehensive paediatric medical care equipping itself with state-of-the-art infrastructure and competent doctors.

At a press conference at its Tadepalli hospital in Guntur district on River Krishna bund, the hospital Operations Head G. Ravi Kiran said that they had eight incubators and warmers in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit in addition to six-bed Paediatric Intensive Care Unit with four paediatric ventilators.

Neo-natal surgeries were being taken up by K.V. Ravi Kumar and he has P. Ravi Kumar, paediatrician, G.V. Kishore Varma and K. Vinod Kumar in his team. Neo-natal and paediatric cases were being referred to the hospital after failure at other places and at the eleventh hour, said Dr. Ravi Kumar.

The hospital has also strengthened its cardiology department with Kosuri Srinivas Babu, a beating heart surgery specialist, joining them along with cardiac anaesthetist K. Anil Kumar and consultant pulmonologist MV Subba Rao.

Beating heart surgeries allow patients to avoid many side affects and quicker recovery during post-operative period. The hospital with a licensed Blood Bank along with components separation facility was able to give blood and components to others also after meeting its internal requirement, said Dr. Srinivas Babu. The requirement of blood was very little in a beating heart surgery, he added.
