The Two Town police arrested two persons on the charges of stealing of digital cameras and laptops from photo studios, here on Saturday. The arrested included B. Chiranjeevi (22), a native of Kudapa village in Reddygudem mandal and K. Gopi (28) hailing from the same village. Cameras and laptops worth Rs.15 lakh were recovered from their possession.
Speaking about the modus operandi, West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Raghava Rao said that the duo, specialised in stealing digital cameras and laptops from studios, would approach the studios on the pretext of getting clicked. They would keep the employees busy in conservation, divert their attention and decamp with the cameras and laptops, he said.
The accused were allegedly involved in 19 cases reported from across Krishna, Guntur and Khammam districts. Two Town Station House Officer P. Venkateswarulu led the police team that nabbed the duo.
