The 124th Urs of the Dargah Hazarath Kale Mastanshavli at Nagarampalem at Guntur will be celebrated from April 24 to 28 amidst religious fervour, according to dargah trustee Ravi Ram Mohan Rao here on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons, he said that the five-day festivities will witness processions, poor feeding, ‘chadhar’ (holy cloth) presentation and Quran recital in which thousands of Muslims and Hindus will take part. The processions will wade through the thoroughfares of Guntur amidst fireworks and communal bonhomie.

Special rituals would be performed to the holy chair on which Baba was believed to have been seated and a holy cot on which he was believed to have reclined until his death. Altaf Raza of Kondapalli dargah said the Nagarampalem dargah was a shining example for the communal harmony as people of all religions visit to take the blessing of the ‘Baba”.

“For the benefit of the devotees coming to dargah we are conducting a medical camp in which expert physicians will take part and distribute medicines,” said Mr. Rao.

Special rituals will be performed to holy chair and cot used by Baba, says dargah trustee
