Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the Amaravati Declaration that was to be adopted by the just-concluded National Women’s Parliament (NWP) was being prepared by UN Women.
The Cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday would take a final decision on the proposed ‘Ammaku Vandanam’ scheme, Mr. Naidu said at a press conference at the Interim Government Complex at Velagapudi in Guntur district on Monday.
The Chief Minister said the NWP had suggested ways of solving the various problems and asserted that it was a platform for rendering justice to the aggrieved women, he said, adding that it was possible to arrive at a political consensus on providing
33 % reservation in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies for women.

Mr. Naidu said as YSR Congress MLA R.K. Roja had declared her intentions to disrupt the proceedings at the prestigious event, she was not permitted to go to the venue.
“Will the police keep quiet in such an instance?” he asked and insisted that they could not be faulted for the precautionary measures (the MLA’s detention) taken by them.
On the objectionable remarks purportedly made by Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao against women, Mr. Naidu wondered what was wrong with his statement and claimed that it had been distorted.
