The Fire and Rescue Services personnel on Tuesday rescued a 23-year-old youth from a well at Pathiripatti.

According to sources, Anand (23), working in a private financial company in Manapparai, was allegedly attacked by a two-member gang when he was returning to Manapparai in his motorbike after watching a dance programme on August 6 at Thogamalai.

The gang escaped from the spot after pushing him into a well at Pathiripatti. It is said that Anand had been battling for life for the last three days as he could not climb up due to severe injuries caused by them.

On information from the owner of the well, the fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued him.
