The district panchayat has decided to identify drinking water-related works before April 29 and take steps to obtain administrative sanction.

This was decided at the ordinary meeting of the district panchayat held here on Monday. It was presided over by district panchayat chairperson Rajathi.

It was also decided to use the subsidy to be given by the State Finance Commission in the current financial year entirely for executing drinking water-related works.

The district panchayat members greeted the chairperson for being selected to receive a national award from the Prime Minister. The meeting discussed 10 agendas and passed resolutions, an official press release here said.
