Works on green houses underway

Works on construction of Chief Minister's solar power green houses are going on at various panchayat unions in the district.

Collector K.Baskaran inspected the works at Melaveli panchayat in Thanjavur panchayat union on Wednesday. A total of 2,589 green houses are being constructed at Rs 46.60 crore. “All the houses have reached the concrete foundation level,” he said.

A sum of Rs.1.80 lakh is provided to the beneficiary for building house. Out of this, Rs. 1.5 lakh would be spent on construction while the remaining Rs. 30,000 for purchasing photo voltaic cells and other equipment .
