Woraiyur police station gets a building

Woraiyur police station falling within the city limits began to function from a new building on Tuesday after it was inaugurated by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa through videoconferencing from Chennai.

The new building has separate rooms for Inspector and Sub Inspector, meeting hall, records room, and a separate room for keeping arms and separate lock up for men and women – all in the ground floor.

The first floor has an enquiry room, separate rest rooms for men and women police personnel, store room and a room for Sub Inspector (Crime).

Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Abhinav Kumar and senior police officers were present in the new building, constructed by the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation, at the time of its inauguration.
