Top executives from TCS, Apollo Hospitals on the panel

The day-long women’s leadership conference held here on Wednesday enabled women leaders from various sectors to share their experiences, give suggestions, and support the development of women as leaders.

The conference was organised jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tiruchi zone and Indian Women Network (IWN).

The day-long event focussed on the challenges and opportunities that Indian women faced today. The objective of the conference was to prepare women to take up challenges and make use of the prospects available to them.

“Women in India have become multi-taskers, balancing the home and the office. They are able to reach high levels in all sectors and are role models.

More and more educated women now hold high designations in all sectors.

Women are bestowed with opportunities in the current vibrant and growing economy,” said Rani Muralidharan, chairperson, CII Tiruchi zone, during the inaugural session.

Bathool Maluk, convener, IWN Tiruchi chapter, and P. Kanakaraj, vice-chairman, CII Tiruchi zone, spoke.

The panel discussion featured Rajani Seshadri, senior vice-president, Tata Consultancy Services; Thangam Meganathan, chairperson, Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions; Gayathri Sriram, managing director Ucal Auto Pvt Ltd and Dr. Rohini Sridhar, chief operating officer, Apollo Speciality Hospitals.

Other session were “learn to lead”, “work life balance — couple’s perspective”, “health and wellness for women” and “women’s leadership — a man’s perspective”.

The event concluded with a conference summary by Ms. Rani Muralidharan.
