December 23, 2013 12:24 pm | Updated 12:24 pm IST - TIRUCHI:

Srirangam All Women Police on Saturday arrested the husband of a woman deputy manager of a private sector bank, who allegedly committed suicide in their house at Puthur on Friday. The couple - Kalyanakrishnan and K. Radhika – belonging to different communities had got married one-and-half years ago. Both were employed in the same bank, but worked at different branches.

The woman was found hanging in their house in the early hours of Friday following which the police booked a case on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father.

Kalyanakrishnan’s mother was unaware that her son had married Radhika and admonished him stating that his action would make it difficult to find a groom for his sister.

This led to arguments between the couple which is said to have broken out on the night of Thursday after which the woman is alleged to have ended her life. An inquiry by the Tiruchi RDO was conducted. Srirangam All Women Police booked a case against Kalyanakrishnan and got him remanded on Sunday.
