A review meeting on the functioning of various developmental and welfare programmes in the district was conducted here under K. Arulmozhi, Principal Secretary and Member Secretary, State Planning Commission at the Collectorate on Thursday.

The review included an appraisal of functioning of Kalaignar's Health Insurance Scheme, 108 ambulance service, Kalaignar's Housing Scheme, along with other welfare schemes in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Arulmozhi, also the District Monitoring Officer, Nagapattinam stated that the district administration has been urged to take up various programmes such as infrastructural facilities of roads and bridges, employment generation under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Annaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Scheme, drinking water schemes etc with vigour and ensure they reach their logical and timely culmination.

A. Annadurai, Collector-incharge, S. Namagiri, Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, S. Suryakala, Project Officer, Magalir Thittam, were present.
