The excitement levels of actor Vijay’s fans reached a crescendo here on Sunday morning. It was time for their idol to arrive at the Anna Nagar Uzhavar Sandhai ground and unsurprisingly, there was much euphoria.

Dancing to some of Vijay’s peppy numbers, played by an orchestra, the fans’ enthusiasm was indeed infectious.

Vijay was in the city to participate in a mass wedding programme organised by the youth wing of the Tiruchi District Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay Narpani Iyakkam.

“I am happy that my fans are involved in welfare activities. Taking part in such functions gives me immense satisfaction,” he said.

All through Vijay’s stay at the venue, eager fans vied with one another to catch a glimpse of their favourite star.

Revealing that his upcoming flick Thalaivaa would be an action-entertainer, the actor said the film had an interesting screenplay. The movie, directed by A.L. Vijay, has Amala Paul playing the female lead.

Thanking his fans for their advance birthday wishes to him, Vijay signed off saying: “I will see you in Thalaivaa ,” triggering another round of rapturous applause.
