Savouries made of minor millets were the highlight of the food festival organised here on Wednesday in connection with MGR birth centenary celebrations by ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services).

Tourism Minister Vellamandi N. Natarajan and Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities S. Valarmathi attributed the healthy living of ancestors to the resistance power accruing from intake of food made of minor millets.

The present generation needs to realise that fast food and junk food is the cause for very many ailments due to the presence of harmful chemicals.

Collector K. Rajamani and Corporation Commissioner Ravichandran spoke. MPs T. Rethinavel, P. Kumar, and R.P. Marudaraja, MLAs and senior officials were present.
