Two detained under Goondas Act

Two murder case accused were detained under the Goondas Act here on Wednesday on the order of the Commissioner of Police M.N. Manjunatha.

The duo C. Ravichandran (40) and M. Rajendran (24) of Keelakalkandarkottai are the prime accused in the murder of Subbiyan who was a gang man in railways.

There was enmity between Ravichandran group and Subbiyan group over several issues, including conduct of temple festival and sports meet. Subbiyan was murdered by Ravichandran group at Melakalkandarkottai while the former was proceeding to duty in May.

The Golden Rock police registered a case and Ravichandran and Rajendran surrendered them before the Judicial Magistrate at Tiruthuraipoondi, a police press release said.
