Training for SHG members in repairing solar devices

About 140 members of self help groups are being trained in maintenance and repair of solar devices through the Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women in the city.

Ten SHG members from each of the 14 panchayat unions are being provided the training. The training is being provided in the wake of the implementation of State government’s Green House, which are mandatorily fitted with solar powered lights. The training will help the SHG members to take up self employment.

The training will be provided to the SHG members in five batches at Tiruchi, Manachanallur, Manapparai, Musiri and Thuraiyur. In Tiruchi trainees from Andhanallur, Manikandam and Tiruverumbur are undergoing the three-week training. S.Murugiah, Director, Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Chennai, and Jayashree Muralidharan, Collector, inspected the training on Monday.
