Diversion of trains due to line block

Southern Railway has announced diversion of the following trains due to line block / power block to facilitate commissioning of double line between Valadi and Ponmalai near Tiruchi on May 23.

The Madurai – Chennai Egmore express (Train No. 12636) will be diverted via Tiruchi, Mayiladuthurai and Villupuram on May 23. The Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur – Tuticorin express (Train No. 16127 / 16129) will be diverted via Vriddhachalam, Salem, Karur and Tiruchi.

The Guruvayur – Tuticorin – Chennai Egmore express (Train No. 16128 / 16130) will be diverted via Tiruchi, Karur, Salem and Vriddhachalam.

Alternate arrangements have been made for passengers who have confirmed reservation in Train No. 16127/16129 and Train No. 16128 / 16130 from / to Srirangam, Ariyalur, Pennadam, Vriddhachalam and for Train No. 12636 from Ariyalur and Vriddhachalam.

For the reserved passengers of Train No. 12636 boarding at Ariyalur, alternate transportation arrangements have been made to board the train at Thanjavur. For passengers boarding at Vriddhachalam, alternate transportation arrangements have been made to board the train at Villupuram.

Passengers of Train No. 16128 / 16130 boarding at Ariyalur and Pennadam, alternate transportation arrangements have been made to board the train at Vriddhachalam. For passengers boarding at Srirangam alternate transportation arrangements have been made to board the train at Tiruchi.

For the reserved passengers of Train No. 16127 / 16129 boarding at Ariyalur and Srirangam, alternate transportation arrangements has been made to board the train at Tiruchi.

For the reserved passengers of Train No. 16127 / 16129 alighting at Ariyalur and Srirangam, alternate transportation arrangements have been made from Vriddhachalam and Tiruchi to reach Ariyalur and Srirangam, a Southern Railway press release said.
