Train services disrupted

Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of the following trains consequent to the fire accident in a route relay interlocking cabin at Itarsi in West Central Railway:

Madurai–Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express (via Tiruchi) (12651) scheduled to leave Madurai at 12.15 a.m. on July 7 and Kanniyakumari–Nizamuddin Tirukural Express (via Tiruchi) (12641) scheduled to leave Kanniyakumari at 7.15 p.m. on July 10 have been cancelled, according to a press release.

Another Railway press release said that the Vriddhachalam–Cuddalore Port Junction Passenger (56834), the Vriddhchalam–Tiruchi Passenger (56807), and the Cuddalore Port Junction–Tiruchi Passenger (56805) will be operated on July 7.

The railways had previously announced that the three trains would be cancelled as part of certain changes made in connection with the erection of pre-cast boxes and slabs for for a Limited Use Subway between Srirangam and Tiruchchirappalli Town stations.
