Traffic safety coordinators installed at BHEL

The 16th batch of traffic safety coordinators was installed at the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi, on Monday.

Twenty employee volunteers were inducted as safety coordinators at a function held at the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of BHEL.

The safety coordinators will assist BHEL security personnel in regulating the traffic and ensuring safety throughout the factory and its township during peak hours and during their off duty hours.

G. Ramasamy, Regional Transport Officer, Tiruchi (East), explained various steps to be taken to prevent accidents. He briefed the participants about the rules and regulations with respect to road safety.

T. Baskaran, Additional General Manager, Health Safety Environment, BHEL, briefed about the Safety Co-ordinators Scheme.

S. Palanivelu, Deputy Chief Security Officer, BHEL, distributed road safety kits to the safety coordinators, according to a BHEL release.

K. Kannan, Senior Deputy General Manager, Safety Management, and K. Muthukumar, Deputy General Manager, Safety Management, BHEL, spoke.
