The Sri Jambukeshwarar Akilandeswari temple at Tiruvanaikoil here is gearing up for the ‘Aadi Pooram’ festival to be celebrated in the Tamil month of ‘Aadi’.

Ahead of the festival, the temple authorities have spruced up the tank opposite to the thousand pillar mandapam where the float festival is to be conducted on July 28. With the tank having gone dry, three borewells have been sunk to draw groundwater. Water is being filled up in the tank through the borewells sunk up to a depth of around 80 feet, said a temple official.

The Aadi Pooram festival is one of the important events in this famous temple.
