The agitators pressed their charter of demands

Sanitary workers of the Tiruchi Corporation, all members of the Tiruchi District Local Bodies Workers Union affiliated to the CITU, staged a demonstration near the Railway Junction in Tiruchi on Friday to press for their charter of demands.

The agitators demanded appointment of adequate number of sanitary workers, supply of full quota of uniforms, disbursement of tailoring expenses, promotion of sanitary workers as supervisors on seniority basis, and payment of all retirement benefits on the day of superannuation. K.C.Pandian, district vice president, CITU, led the agitation.
