Tiruchi Division wins overall shield in Safety Week event

The Tiruchi Railway Division won the Overall Safety Shield in various competitions conducted during the annual Safety Week celebrations held at the Zonal Railway Training Institute here on Thursday and Friday.

The Southern Railway General Manager Rakesh Misra handed over the shield to Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Tiruchi Division G. Chandrasekaran at the valedictory function held at the training institute on Friday.

Mr. Misra exhorted railway employees to remain vigilant and ensure safe operation of trains. The Divisional Railway Manager Manjula Rangarajan said that care on safety would be taken at unmanned level-crossings.

S. Anantharaman, Chief Safety Officer, Southern Railway, S.A. Abdul Rahman, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi, and R. Raghuraman, Principal, Zonal Railway Training Institute, were present, a Southern Railway release here said.
