Tiruchi Corporation gets award

The Tiruchi City Corporation has been adjudged the best among all the municipal corporations in the State for its achievement in the Flag Day collection during the year 2008.

The Corporation has registered a collection of Rs.15,03,500 against the target of Rs.7.15 lakh fixed for that year. Governor Surjit Singh Barnala presented Tamil Nadu Government's special shield and certificate of appreciation which was received by T. T. Balsamy, Commissioner of Tiruchi City Corporation in the presence of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the Independence Day function held at Raj Bhavan in Chennai.
