Tiruchi auto drivers want norms for licence, badges relaxed

July 29, 2013 11:04 am | Updated June 04, 2016 06:15 pm IST - TIRUCHI:

The AITUC Auto Workers Union pleaded with the authorities to do away with the various restrictions in the provision of licence and badges to the autorickshaw drivers and give the same without any precondition.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at a meeting of the Tiruchi city unit of the union here recently.

Another resolution said that the autorickshaw drivers had been directed to come in person for enrolling their names with the welfare board. This condition should be dropped and the government should introduce the procedure of autorickshaw drivers enrolling their names through the trade unions.
