Timeline for Tiruchi school admissions under RTE issued

The school education department in the district has advised economically backward parents who are eligible to seek admission for their wards under the RTE (Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act) 2009 to avail themselves of the benefit of 25 per cent quota of free admission at entry stage in non-minority unaided matriculation, CBSE, and nursery schools.

In a press release, Chief Educational Officer K.Selvakumar said the applications available at Block Resource Centres, Inspectorate of Matriculation Schools, and offices of the District Elementary Education Officer, and CEO. The filled-in applications must be submitted before June 17 along with the detail of the school where the admission is desired and the requisite documents for eligibility.

The CEO would issue the admission orders to eligible children on June 21. The expenditure for the children admitted under the 25 per cent quota would be borne by the government, the statement said.
