It’s time to take a call on MDMK leader Vaiko’s continuation in the BJP-led alliance in light of his continued criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP national secretary H. Raja said here on Sunday.

Addressing journalists, Mr. Raja said that ever since the BJP came to the power, Mr. Vaiko had been criticising the two leaders and addressing them in singular terms, on imaginary reasons.

In fact, Mr. Vaiko alleged that it was because of Mr. Modi that Sri Lanka awarded the death sentence to five Indian fishermen. When they were released at the intervention of Mr. Modi, even Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and DMK president M. Karunanidhi welcomed the efforts. But Mr. Vaiko termed the episode a “drama.”

“He must stop unnecessarily criticising the Centre or we would be forced to deal accordingly,” he said.
