The highly decomposed bodies of a woman and her son and daughter were recovered from their apartment here on Saturday.

Samiyathal (43), separated from her husband Thangavel, was living with her son Karthik (26) and daughter, Gowri (23), at their apartment in Gandhipuram, off the 80-Feet Road, here. The doors of the flat had not been opened for some days and a foul smell emanatrd from inside. The Karur town police broke open the doors and found the three bodies in a highly decomposed condition.

Since the bodies were not in a position to be shifted to the government hospital, post mortem was conducted at the flat, which had been given to Samiyathal as part of the alimony from her husband Thangavel, a textile trader.

Karthik had a post-graduate degree in business administration while his sister Gowri was a law graduate. Further investigations are on.
