Three killed in bus collision

Three persons were killed in a bus collision along the Sirkazhi to Vaitheeshwaran Kovil stretch in the early hours of Thursday. The accident occurred when a Vellore to Mannargudi bus collided with a stranded Tiruchi-bound Chidambaram bus at Nallansaavadi here. The conductor was killed on the spot, while a 17-year old man, Singaravelan died after admission at the Sirkazhi Government Hospital. The identity of another person killed in the incident is yet to be established.

A total of 18 people have been admitted at the Chidambaram Medical College hospital and three others were taken to the Thanjavur Medical College hospital. The Chidambaram-Tiruchi bus had broken down and was parked alongside the stretch when the accident took place at about 3.30 a.m.
