Teams of corporation engineers were engaged in conducting surprise inspections to detect the use of motors for such purposes. On Friday, three motors were seized during inspections conducted in Srirangam zone by a team led by Assistant Executive Engineer, N. Balagurunathan and Junior Engineers Mathivanan and Ravindran. The motors were seized from residents in Big Sourashtra Street and Vadakku Veedhi in Srirangam.

Another motor was seized from a team led by Assistant Executive Engineer, Kannan and Junior Engineer Krishnamurthy at Ramachandra Nagar near Edamalaipattipudur in Golden Rock Zone. The drinking water connections to the premises of all the offenders were disconnected.
