A giant LED video wall to provide railway related information to passengers has been installed at Tiruchi Junction.

Fixed near the VIP entrance, the video wall has been installed by a private agency with space provided by the railways.

The huge screen would display information pertaining to arrival and departure of trains originating from Tiruchi Junction and those passing through the station along with platform numbers.

Messages

Information relating to late arrival and departure of trains and security and safety related awareness messages would be screened in the video wall.

Railway officials said information appearing in the video wall could be viewed easily by passengers even from the roadside entrance of the station.

The test run of the equipment was done on Tuesday and was expected to be commissioned shortly.

About 50 per cent of the display time would be earmarked for screening railway related information and the rest for screening advertisements.

The agency had paid licence fee to the railways and would mop up revenue by screening advertisements, the officials said.
