The city round of The Hindu In School Cello Handwriting Wizard Contest will be held at the Cauvery College for Women at Annamalai Nagar in the city on Sunday.

The contest is an endeavour to encourage and recognise good handwriting skills. The contest is being held in two categories — juniors and seniors.

The ongoing contest is open to schools in Chennai, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Kochi, Madurai, Tiruchi, Coimbatore, and Salem. The school handwriting wizards will get to create the ‘Cello Wall,’ where they write about the changes that they want in the country.

“Cello Handwriting Wizards contest is in line with our fundamental belief in encouraging the joy of writing and ensuring that students are the key enablers. The activation aims at mass participation and recognition of the talent,” said Permendra Singh, Director-Marketing, Cello.

After the phenomenal response to the school round, it is time for the city round. Student participants should report for the contest at 9.30 a.m. at the venue. The prize distribution ceremony would be held at 11.30 a.m.

J.T. Venkateswarlu, Post Master General, Central Region, Tiruchi, would distribute the prizes and G.Natarajan, Director, Postal Services, Central Region, would be guest of honour.
