Temple elephants go on a vacation

The temple elephants of Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple, Sri Jambukeswarar Akilandeswari temple, Tiruvanaikoil, and Rockfort Thayumanaswamy temple were sent for rejuvenation camp from here to Mettupalayam taluk on Wednesday.

Official sources said the three elephants were sent by trucks from Amma Mandapam Road after conducting pujas.

Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department officials participated in the event.

The rejuvenation camp will be held for a period of 48 days from December 11.
