Teachers to contribute a day's salary towards cyclone relief

The Tamil Nadu Elementary School Teachers' Federation has come forward to contribute a day's salary for this month to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, for carrying out relief works for the flood-affected in the districts of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Villupuram.

In a joint statement, State president of the Federation K. Kamaraj and General Secretary N. Rengarajan expressed their solidarity with the farming community and others in these districts that were badly affected by the Thane cyclone fury.

The federation lauded the initiatives taken on war-footing by the State Government to provide relief to the affected people in those districts.
