Tangedco to conduct ‘name transfer melas’ on April 29

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has announced that ‘maha melas’ for name transfer of electricity connections would be held at all its divisional offices on April 29.

The melas would be held at the office of the Divisional Executive Engineers at the respective divisions, P. Muthamizhselvan, Superintending Engineer, Tangedco, Tiruchi Metro Circle, said in a release.

Consumers, seeking name transfers, would have to remit Rs. 200 either in cash or by demand draft.

They have to submit the name transfer application form 1 and 2; photocopy of registration document; house tax receipt of this year and filled-in indemnity bond for Rs. 80.

In the event of death of a consumer, the applicant should produce death/legal heir certificates along with no-objection certificate from legal heirs, the release added.
