Students’ tribute to MGR

To mark the birth centenary celebrations of the late leader

A huge image of late Chief Minister MGR on 10,000 square feet was made by 100 girl students at the Government Higher Secondary School campus here on Tuesday.

It was made in connection with the birth centenary celebrations of the late leader. Girl students from the Government Higher Secondary School, Perambalur, Government Higher Secondary School, Padalur and Government High School, Chathiramani were involved in the drawing the image using ‘kolam’ powder.

Official sources said the outline was made by a team of drawing masters following which the students completed the image under their supervision in a span of five hours. The huge image of MGR drawn by students received appreciation from the Project Director, District Rural Development Agency Sridhar. Chief Educational Officer Arulmozhi Devi and officials from Education Department participated, a press release said.
