The entire campus of Jegan Matha Matriculation School wore a festive look, when the students and teachers jointly celebrated the Pongal – the festival of harvest and thanksgiving-in a fitting manner on Friday.
Rev. Fr. Selvakumar presided over the celebrations and delivered a special Pongal message.
He explained the vital role played by the farming community in the overall economic development of the country and the need to be thankful to them .
The students and teachers prepared the sweet pongal on the occasion and it was distributed to all. Students in the traditional costumes presented cultural programmes reflecting the importance of the celebrations.
Rev. Fr. M. Chinnappan, principal of the school, A. Sundararajan, vice principal, offered felicitations.
