State-of-art rice mill commissioned

SNR Rice Industries (P) Ltd., got its state-of-the-art rice mill inaugurated at Poovalur near Lalgudi in the district on Wednesday.

With a production capacity of 100 metric tonnes per day, the unit has put in place quality systems right from paddy procurement to packaging the rice in 10 kg, 25 kg, 75 kg and 100 kg bags.

The mill equipped to produce three types of rice: raw rice, single boiled, and steam rice, has a retail counter.

The Srirangam Jeer Swamigal commissioned the modern machinery in the presence of the Chairman and Managing Director of the unit K.N. Manivannan.

With imported equipment the mill is the only individual unit in the State with a capacity to process 100 metric tonnes of paddy per day.
