Srirangam Sri Ranga Narayana Jeer, who had undertaken a yatra to Muktinath in Nepal, is reported to be safe along with his entourage.

As many as 127 persons, hailing from Srirangam, Tiruchi, Erode, and other places, had started the journey on April 20 from Chennai along with the acharya.

The group had returned from Nepal and near Bagdogra in West Bengal on way to New Delhi when the massive earthquake hit. Some members of the entourage felt the tremor. However, they are safe.

V. Thirumalai, who had accompanied the swami, told The Hindu over phone that he felt the tremor when he got down from the bus to buy plantain leaf for the acharya. However, all were safe.

Mr. Thirumalai said the journey was completed as per schedule. The swami and other members had successfully visited Muktinath. The acharya was expected to return to Srirangam on Sunday.
