A large number of devotees offered worship to Namperumal and His Consorts Ubaya Nachiyars and pulled the temple car on the occasion of Thai Thaer festival on Wednesday.

The idols were brought from the sanctum sanctorum in the early hours. The deities were then taken to the temple car where special pujas were performed.

Devotees started pulling the car at about 6 a.m. through the four Uthira streets around the temple.

The 10-day festival also called Bhoopathy Tirunal commenced on February 4. The car festival signifies the ninth-day celebration.

S.Kalyani, executive officer of the temple, supervised the arrangements for the festival.
