Special railway counters opened at Srirangam temple

The arrangement is in place for the annual Vaikunta Ekadasi festival at the Sri Renganathaswamy Temple.

The Railways has opened special counters at the Sri Renganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam to facilitate booking of reserved and unreserved tickets In view of the annual Vaikunta Ekadasi festival .

The counters would function from December 13 to 26. The Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter would issue tickets from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Sundays, the counter would function from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counter would function from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the afternoon on all the days till December 26.

The counter would issue unreserved tickets for journey from Srirangam or cluster locations such as Tiruchi Junction and Tiruchi Fort to any destination. The devotees could also purchase their unreserved tickets even three days in advance, where journey distance involves 200 km and above at the special counters, a press release from Tiruchi Railway Division said here on Thursday.
