Illustrious alumni of Seshasayee Institute of Technology (SIT), retired and serving bureaucrats, industrialists, entrepreneurs and top-notch officials, lose no opportunity to attribute their progress to the motivation by late R. Anantha Narasimachar as a compassionate former Principal and inspiring teacher.

An epitome of selflessness, Shri ANC, as the alumni fondly address their mentor, say that his legendary vision was what could transform them into what they are today. On Friday, the alumni took forward their thankfulness to the noble soul by granting scholarships to seven deserving students out of the memorial fund of Rs.9 lakh they had created in the name of their mentor, over a year after his demise.

At the scholarship distribution function, the illustrious alumni represented by G.R.K. Raju, former chief workshop manager, Golden Rock Railway Workshop, Tiruchi; S. They sought to inspire the students to consider polytechnic education as a launching pad for further academic pursuits leading to responsible roles as change agents in the society, and were hopeful that the quantum of memorial fund and its utility for deserving students will keep surging. Unlike in the past, there was more scope for students to achieve owing to the high awareness level, the speakers said. T.R. Sivaraman, Honorary Secretary, Seshasayee Educational Society, said the onus was on the students to sustain the institution’s glorious tradition
