A safety seminar on monsoon precautions and track patrolling was organised by the Safety Department of the Tiruchi Railway Division here on Tuesday.

About 200 railway personnel from engineering, mechanical, operating, signal and telecommunication, safety and electrical departments took part in the seminar which was organised to refresh the knowledge of employees and emphasise on the need to run trains safely during monsoon.

Call to be cautious

In his presidential address, the Divisional Railway Manager P.V.Vaidialingam called upon the trackman to be cautious while carrying out track patrolling.

The trackman should take care of themselves and also the track while patrolling during monsoon season. The trackman should check the water level under bridges while patrolling.

Any abnormality noticed during patrolling should be communicated to the nearest station, he added.
